Real-Time Voice Changer FAQ

What does "real-time" actually mean?
Real-time means the voice conversion happens fast enough for live use — gaming, streaming, calls. Echo Live's audio engine is GPU-accelerated and designed to minimize the delay between you speaking and others hearing the transformed voice.
How is latency measured?
Audio latency has three components: input capture (mic → buffer), processing (voice conversion), and output playback (buffer → speaker). Echo Live includes Performance Presets that let you tune the balance between latency and stability for your setup.
What are Performance Presets?
Echo Live offers configurable performance presets from "Ultra Low Latency" to "CPU Safe". Lower latency settings use smaller audio buffers and require more CPU/GPU power, while higher latency settings are more stable on weaker hardware. Most gaming PCs can run on the "Low Latency" preset without issues.
Can I use it for competitive gaming?
Yes. Echo Live is designed for real-time use. Professional streamers and competitive gamers use it without any impact on their performance.
Does GPU acceleration help with latency?
Yes. GPU acceleration (DirectML on Windows, CoreML on macOS) offloads the neural network inference from the CPU, resulting in faster and more consistent processing times. An NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel GPU is recommended for the best real-time experience.
