Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Echo Live.

General

What is Echo Live?
Echo Live is a real-time AI voice changer for Windows and macOS. It uses RVC (Retrieval-based Voice Conversion) technology to transform your voice in real-time. It includes built-in voice presets, a full real-time effects library, and a built-in soundboard. Import thousands of community AI voice models or craft your own in the DSP lab. It works with any application that accepts microphone input, including Discord, Fortnite, OBS, Zoom, and more.
Is Echo free?
Yes, Echo Live is completely free during the beta period. No credit card required, no trial limits, no watermarks.
How does it work?
Echo creates a virtual microphone on your system. It captures your real microphone input, processes it through an AI voice model in real-time, and outputs the transformed audio to the virtual microphone. Any app that accepts mic input can use this virtual microphone to hear your changed voice.
What platforms does it work with?
Echo works with any application that accepts microphone input. This includes Discord, Fortnite, Valorant, CS2, Roblox, OBS Studio, Streamlabs, Twitch, VRChat, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and many more.

Technical

What are the system requirements?
Minimum: Windows 10 or macOS 12, 4GB RAM, modern dual-core CPU, and VB-Audio Virtual Cable (Windows). Recommended: Windows 11 or macOS 14, 8GB RAM, a dedicated GPU (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel), and SSD storage.
Does it support GPU acceleration?
Yes. Echo supports DirectML (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel GPUs on Windows) and CoreML (Apple Silicon on macOS) for faster voice processing.
What is RVC?
RVC (Retrieval-based Voice Conversion) is an AI technique that converts one voice into another in real-time. Unlike traditional pitch shifters, RVC produces natural-sounding results by learning the characteristics of a target voice from training data.
Can I use custom voice models?
Yes. Echo supports any .pth RVC voice model. You can download models from the community or train your own.
What is the latency?
Echo Live is designed for real-time use. Total end-to-end latency depends on your buffer configuration and hardware. The app includes Performance Presets (Ultra Low to CPU Safe) that let you tune the balance between latency and stability for your setup.

Safety & Privacy

Is voice changing safe?
Yes. Echo is a standard audio application. It does not modify game files, inject code, or interact with other applications' memory. All audio processing happens locally on your device.
Will I get banned for using a voice changer?
Voice changers are audio devices, not game modifications. Anti-cheat systems like VAC, Vanguard, and Easy Anti-Cheat do not flag virtual audio devices. However, always use voice changers responsibly and in accordance with each platform's terms of service.
Is my voice data sent to any servers?
No. All voice processing happens 100% locally on your device. No audio data is ever sent to any server. Your privacy is fully protected.
