1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Escalera Labs S.L. ("Echo", "we", "us", "our") regarding your use of the voicechanger.live website, the Echo desktop application, and all related browser-based tools (collectively, "Echo Products").

By downloading, installing, or using any Echo Product, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Echo Products.

2. Description of Service

Echo is a real-time voice changer application that uses AI-powered voice conversion (RVC) and digital signal processing (DSP) to transform audio in real time. Echo Products include:

• Echo Desktop App — native application for Windows and macOS providing real-time voice conversion, DSP effects, soundboard, and preset management
• VoiceChanger.Live Website — informational website, browser-based audio tools (voice recorder, mic test, stem splitter, vocal remover, etc.), and account management
• Browser Audio Tools — client-side audio processing tools that run entirely in your browser

3. Age Requirements

You must be at least 16 years old to use Echo Products. If you are between 16 and the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, your parent or legal guardian must read and accept these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of Echo Products.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at legal@voicechanger.live and we will delete it promptly.

4. Account Registration

You may create an account using your email address or through third-party OAuth providers (Google). Your account is personal to you — you may not transfer, lend, or share it with any other person.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, ensuring that no unauthorized person accesses your account, and notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use. We may assume that any activity from your account is authorized by you.

Sign-in via third-party providers is subject to the terms and privacy policies of those providers. We receive only your public profile information (name, email, profile picture) from these services.

5. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable, worldwide license to download, install, and use Echo Products for personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property.

You may:

• Use Echo to modify your voice for personal entertainment, gaming, streaming, content creation, and communication
• Monetize content created with Echo through social media platforms, streaming, and video hosting (YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, etc.)
• Import and use community-created voice models in Echo
• Create and share custom DSP presets

You may not:

• Copy, modify, create derivative works of, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble Echo software, except as permitted by applicable law
• Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or distribute Echo or any part thereof
• Use Echo to develop a competing product or service
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks

6. AI Voice Models & User Content

Echo supports the use of AI voice models based on RVC (Retrieval-based Voice Conversion) technology. These models may be built-in presets provided by us, or third-party community-created models imported by you.

Your responsibilities when using voice models:

• You may only use voice models of real people if you have that person's explicit consent, or if the model is your own voice
• You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights and permissions to use any voice model you import into Echo
• You may not use voice models to create non-consensual deepfakes, fabricated statements attributed to real people, or misleading impersonations
• Celebrity or public figure voice models may only be used for personal entertainment and must not be used to create content that could be mistaken for genuine statements by that person

Any content you create, upload, or share using Echo Products ("User Content") remains your property. We claim no ownership over your voice recordings, presets, or other content. However, you are solely responsible for the legality and appropriateness of all User Content.

7. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use Echo Products to:

• Impersonate or deceive: Impersonate any person with intent to defraud, deceive, or cause harm. This includes impersonating law enforcement, government officials, emergency services, or financial institutions.
• Harass or threaten: Engage in harassment, stalking, intimidation, or any form of abuse directed at individuals or groups.
• Create non-consensual content: Generate voice clones or deepfake audio of individuals without their explicit consent.
• Commit fraud: Use voice modification for financial fraud, identity theft, phishing, scams, or any form of criminal deception.
• Violate laws: Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation, including recording consent laws, wiretapping statutes, and emerging deepfake legislation.
• Distribute harmful content: Create or distribute content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or promotes violence or hatred.
• Interfere with services: Attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise Echo Products or their underlying infrastructure.
• Scrape or extract: Use automated tools to scrape, mine, or extract data from Echo Products, or use Echo Products to train third-party AI models without written permission.

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action, including suspending or terminating your account and reporting to law enforcement, if you violate this Acceptable Use Policy.

8. Open-Source Components

Echo incorporates open-source software components, including but not limited to RVC voice conversion technology, ONNX Runtime, and various audio processing libraries. These components are subject to their respective open-source licenses (MIT, Apache 2.0, GPL, etc.).

Your use of Echo implies acceptance of these third-party license terms. Open-source attributions and license texts are available within the Echo application under Settings > About > Open Source Licenses.

9. Alpha & Early Access

Echo is currently in Alpha. Alpha software may contain bugs, errors, and incomplete features. By using the Alpha version, you acknowledge and accept that:

• The software is provided for testing and evaluation purposes
• Features may change, be removed, or become paid in future releases
• Data loss is possible — back up any important presets or configurations
• Performance and stability may vary across hardware configurations
• We may collect anonymized crash reports and usage diagnostics to improve the product (see our Privacy Policy for details)

All features are free during the Alpha period. We reserve the right to introduce paid tiers, subscriptions, or feature gating in future releases. Existing free users will be notified before any pricing changes take effect.

10. Intellectual Property

Echo, VoiceChanger.Live, and all associated branding, design, logos, content, and documentation are the exclusive property of Escalera Labs S.L. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

The DSP effect presets included with Echo are licensed for personal use under these Terms. You may create and share your own custom presets. Community voice models are provided by their respective creators under their own licensing terms — we do not claim ownership of community-created content.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Echo Products are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Echo Products will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

Echo is designed for entertainment, gaming, content creation, and personal communication. It is not designed or intended for use in medical, emergency, military, critical infrastructure, or any environment where failure could result in harm.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Escalera Labs S.L. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of Echo Products, regardless of the theory of liability.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims related to Echo Products shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or twenty-five euros (€25), whichever is greater.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Escalera Labs S.L. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your violation of these Terms; (b) your User Content; (c) your use or misuse of Echo Products; (d) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

14. Updates & Modifications

We may update Echo Products at any time, including adding new features, modifying existing features, or discontinuing features. We may also release maintenance updates and security patches. We recommend enabling automatic updates to ensure you have the latest version.

We may revise these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email, in-app notification, or a prominent notice on our website. Your continued use of Echo Products after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must stop using Echo Products.

15. Termination

You may stop using Echo Products at any time and delete your account by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access to Echo Products at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service.

Upon termination: (a) your license to use Echo Products ends immediately; (b) you must uninstall Echo software from your devices; (c) we may delete your account data after a reasonable retention period. Termination does not affect any rights, obligations, or liabilities that accrued prior to termination.

16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be submitted to the courts of Valencia, Spain.

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you additionally enjoy the protections afforded by mandatory provisions of the laws of your country of residence. You may bring a claim in Spain or in the EU country in which you live. For EU residents, the European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
