Features

What's included

AI Stem Separation

Meta's HTDemucs neural network splits any song into 4 clean stems: vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments.

100% Private

The AI model runs entirely in your browser. No audio is uploaded to any server — ever.

🥁

4-Stem Output

Get vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments as separate tracks. Solo or mute any stem before downloading.

GPU Accelerated

WebGPU acceleration for fast processing. A 3-minute song processes in 15-30 seconds on modern hardware.

Preview & Mix

Listen to each stem individually or in combination before downloading. Solo and mute controls for every track.

📦

Download All

Download all 4 stems as individual WAV files, or get them all in a single ZIP archive.

Use Cases

Who is this for?

🎧

Remixing & Mashups

Isolate individual stems to create remixes, mashups, and bootlegs. Layer vocals from one track over the instruments of another for unique combinations.

🥁

Drum Sampling

Extract drum tracks from any song for sampling and beat-making. Isolate kick patterns, hi-hat grooves, and fills from your favorite records.

🎸

Practice & Transcription

Solo any instrument to learn parts by ear. Isolate the bass line, guitar riff, or drum pattern and practice along at any speed.

🎬

Film & Video Scoring

Extract instrumental stems to use as soundtrack elements in video projects. Remove vocals for clean background music, or isolate drums for rhythmic scoring.

Vocal Isolation

Extract clean vocal tracks for acapella performances, vocal analysis, or creating vocal sample libraries from existing recordings.

Live Performance

Create custom backing tracks by muting specific stems. Remove the bass to play your own live, or keep just drums and vocals for acoustic arrangements.

Professional AI Stem Splitting — Free in Your Browser

Our stem splitter uses Meta's HTDemucs v4 neural network — the same AI architecture behind professional services like Splice, LALAL.AI, and iZotope RX. Unlike those tools, ours runs entirely in your browser using WebGPU acceleration. Your music files are never uploaded anywhere, making this the most private stem separation tool available. The AI model splits any song into four clean stems: vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments (guitars, synths, keys, strings). Each stem is exported as a lossless WAV file. Whether you're a producer, DJ, musician, or content creator, this tool gives you studio-grade stem separation at no cost.

What Is Stem Separation and How Does It Work?

Stem separation (also called source separation or demixing) is the process of breaking a mixed audio recording into its individual components. A typical song contains vocals layered with drums, bass, guitars, synthesizers, and other instruments — all mixed together into a single stereo file. AI stem separation uses deep learning to "unmix" this audio. The HTDemucs model was trained on thousands of professionally produced songs where the individual stems were available. It learned the spectral and temporal characteristics of each instrument type, and can now predict and reconstruct each stem from a mixed recording. The result is four separate, clean audio tracks that can be used independently.

Stem Splitter vs Vocal Remover — Which Should I Use?

Both tools use the same AI model (HTDemucs v4), but they produce different outputs. The Vocal Remover gives you two tracks: a clean instrumental and an isolated vocal. The Stem Splitter goes further, splitting the audio into four tracks: vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments. Use the Vocal Remover if you just need karaoke tracks or a quick instrumental. Use the Stem Splitter if you need individual instrument stems for remixing, sampling, transcription, or detailed audio work. The Stem Splitter takes slightly longer to process since it produces four outputs instead of two.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What stems does the splitter produce?

Four stems: Vocals, Drums, Bass, and Other (guitars, synths, pianos, strings, and all other instruments). This is the standard 4-stem separation used by professional tools.

Is the Stem Splitter free?

Yes, completely free with no limits. No signup, no watermarks, no per-minute charges.

How is this different from the Vocal Remover?

The Vocal Remover gives you 2 outputs (vocals + instrumental). The Stem Splitter gives you 4 outputs (vocals + drums + bass + other instruments). Same AI model, more detailed separation.

Can I use this for remixing?
Yes — that's one of the most popular use cases. Isolate the drum track for sampling, extract the bassline for a remix, or grab the vocal for a mashup.
Is my audio uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser using WebGPU. Your files are never uploaded anywhere. This is verifiable in your browser's developer tools.
What is the maximum file length?
Up to 10 minutes and 200MB. For longer tracks, we recommend using our desktop application which has no length limits.
Does it work on mobile?
This tool requires a desktop computer. The AI model needs WebGPU acceleration, which is not available on most mobile browsers.
How does this compare to LALAL.AI?
We use the same class of AI (HTDemucs by Meta). The difference is that our tool runs 100% in your browser — your audio never leaves your device. LALAL.AI requires uploading to their servers.
