How Echo Works With VRChat

Echo changes your microphone before VRChat receives it. Your headset mic goes into Echo, Echo outputs a virtual microphone, and VRChat receives that mic like any normal input. That makes Echo different from a VRChat client modification: it does not inject code, change worlds, alter avatars, modify the VRChat app, or interact with platform systems. It is an audio route. On PC desktop mode, select Echo as the input device. On PCVR, make sure Windows, SteamVR, and your headset route agree on the same input. On standalone Quest without a PC audio route, Echo cannot run directly inside the headset.
