Audio Speed Changer vs. Pitch Changer — What Is the Difference?
Speed and pitch are related but independent properties of audio. The Audio Speed Changer alters how fast the audio plays while keeping the pitch constant — a podcast sped up to 2x sounds the same, just faster. The Pitch Changer alters the musical note while keeping the duration constant — a voice shifted up 5 semitones sounds higher, but the recording is the same length. In raw audio processing, changing speed naturally changes pitch: faster = higher pitch, slower = lower pitch. Both of our tools use algorithms that decouple speed from pitch, letting you adjust each independently. Use the Speed Changer when you want to save time or slow down for practice. Use the Pitch Changer when you want to transpose music or create voice effects.
